If you know me a bit, you must be familiarized with the fact that Fullmetal Alchemist is my favourite manga in the whole world. However, Riza Hawkeye is not my favourite character in the series — that would be a certain Colonel. Nevertheless, Hawkeye is my second favourite, not only in this series, but in the whole manga universe. It saddens me to notice the presence of so few Fullmetal Alchemist (manga) dedications in the web, and especially the lack of shrines focused on my favourite female character ever.

Anyone can tell you that Fullmetal Alchemist is filled with rich complex characters amidst a sea of awesome. Why Hawkeye, then? Well, there's nothing I love more than a strange quirky girl. There are lots of us like that in the real world, but somehow fiction tends to fail in reflecting this fact. She also has a lot of characteristics I admire in a human being, such as intelligence, sympathy, loyalty, courage and a strong set of moral values. I love that she's flawed and learns from her mistakes. And most of all I adore how she feels so real although she's not.

As I said, making a shrine to her had always been part of my long-term plans for roy-mustang.net. Finally, I grew some courage and signed up for Amassment's Girl Mode shrine challenge ♥ Thanks so much to the lovely people over there for giving me the kick in the ass I needed!
