Ling, Lan Fan and Fuu join Edward, Alphonse and Winry on their way to Central. As Falman keeps an eye on Barry in a secure flat, Roy is digging up information about Hughes' murder and shares some of it with Armstrong. However, Lust and Envy keep a close surveillance on him and are worried he's making progresses, and so they plan a way to distract him and even cause some damage-- make Maria Ross the main suspect in the Hughes case.

Edward, Alphonse and Winry go to pay a visit to Central Headquarters upon their arrival (and losing Ling, Lan Fan and Fuu in the process). They find Roy and Hawkeye there, instead of Hughes-- but Roy finds himself unable to tell the kids Hughes had been murdered a month ago.

Meanwhile, it's starting to look like the Military has found a sacrificial lamb in Maria Ross and charged her with the crime. Barry finds out about it and helps her to escape (and Ling too while at it)... just as Ed and Al become aware of the situation and intercept them. Ross goes down an alleyway, but when Ed arrives there he only finds Roy standing near a burnt corpse.
