VATO FALMAN | go back

At first sight, perhaps you'd think good ol' Falman wouldn't be so easily caught in Roy's idealism as the rest of his comrades. He looks like a serious and no-nonsense man, which could give the impression he's one to act by the rules at all times. Maybe Roy himself thought that, and wanted to give Falman a way out in case he wasn't completely sure about what he was getting himself into...

Roy: Also, forget everything that you have heard tonight. Do you understand? It's a dangerous bridge and though you're my associate, you have no need to cross it with me.
Falman: Mmh... that is true. However, Colonel, I'm afraid I have too good a memory. Telling me to forget about this is something I can't do. Since I stepped aboard this boat, I have to follow you wherever you go. If there's anything I can do, just say so.
Roy: Falman... I apologize. Thank you.

The "Barry case" ended up being Falman's proof of unwavering loyalty to Roy. Not only did he followed his superior to Central, he was prepared for whatever Roy had to face there, for whatever dangerous bridge he had to cross for him. Roy could only apologize and accept his help, with one big touched expression on his face (amplified by Hawkeye's own face of pride and gratefulness).

Even if a little clumsy and (perhaps) naive, Falman is a great soldier and an extremely valuable addition to Roy's team. Kind at heart, Falman is also a brilliant individual, capable of storing lots of information and facts in his brain -- something which comes handy to Roy for sure. It's obvious he looks up to his boss (something very resembling of Fuery) and treats him with the most respect, and even if they're not in such familiar terms as with Havoc and Breda, Roy's trust and affection for Falman is quite obvious.
